What was the main spiritual challenge that Balasaheb Deo was facing?

Balasaheb Deo's primary spiritual challenge was his inability to read the Dnyaneshwari on a daily basis, despite having a great desire to do so. As Chapter 41 explains, whenever he attempted to read it, some obstacle would arise, and his resolution would not hold. This was particularly frustrating for him because he was able to read other books regularly. The reading of the Dnyaneshwari felt superficial, and he could not even manage to read five verses, or Ovis, with any consistency, which caused him great distress and led him to make a special vow.
