What was the main purpose of Maharaj's incarnation, and how did he help devotees who had worldly desires?

A large proportion of the devotees who sought his presence were 'Sakam' devotees, meaning they came with worldly desires. Having earned their trust and gratitude, he would then seamlessly and skillfully turn their minds toward the path of ultimate spiritual welfare, guiding them beyond their initial, limited motivations toward a higher purpose.
