The khaja incident was a transformative experience for Laxmichand, profoundly deepening his devotion. Before this, he was one of many visiting devotees, but when Baba miraculously fulfilled his unspoken desire and acknowledged his physical pain, Laxmichand's faith became absolute. Chapter 28 states that after this, his "love was fixed on Baba" and "joy arose in his heart." This personal proof of Baba's omniscience and grace inspired him to begin a regular practice of worship.
