What was the challenging order Sai Baba gave to Dada Kelkar, and what spiritual principle did this test illustrate?

📖 Chapter 38

As recounted in Chapter 38, Sai Baba gave a very novel and challenging order to Ganesh Damodar Kelkar, an elderly and devout Brahmin. On Ekadashi, a holy fasting day, Baba instructed Dada Kelkar to personally go and procure meat, even giving him the money for it. This was a profound test for Kelkar, who was perfect in his orthodox conduct. The incident illustrates a higher spiritual principle: the ultimate 'Dakshina' or offering to a Guru is not material wealth, but the faithful execution of the Guru's command. Pleasing the Guru through obedience is presented as the truest form of devotion, surpassing personal customs or beliefs.
