What was the aftermath of the attack on Kashiram? How did he recover and was his bravery acknowledged?

After being left for dead by the thieves, Kashiram eventually regained consciousness. As detailed in Chapter 0, he had such profound faith in Sai Maharaj that he refused to go to a hospital for his injuries, insisting instead, "Take me to Shirdi." He was brought there, and following Maharaj's instructions, Madhavrao Deshpande treated him. Naturally, by Maharaj's grace, he recovered fully. In recognition of his courageous act of fighting off multiple armed thieves, Kashiram was awarded a sword as a gift from the Bombay government.
