What was Tatya Patil's special relationship with Baba, especially during the Chavadi procession?

Tatya Patil shared a uniquely close and loving relationship with Sai Baba, whom he affectionately called 'Mama' (uncle). Their bond was central to the start of the Chavadi procession, as detailed in Chapter 37. Baba would not leave the Masjid until Tatya Patil arrived. It was Tatya who would put his hand under Baba's arm to help Him stand up. He would also place a beautiful golden-bordered shawl over Baba and adjust it on His head. During the walk to the Chavadi, Tatyaba held Baba's left hand, guiding Him along the path. This highlights their deep mutual love and Tatya's indispensable role in the ceremony.
