What was so unusual about the activities that took place in the mosque where Sai Baba lived?

📖 Chapter 7

The mosque where Sai Baba resided was highly unconventional due to the blend of religious activities he permitted there. As detailed in Chapter 7, while it was a mosque, it featured many elements of a Hindu temple. A sacred fire, or Dhuni, burned there day and night. The sounds of bells ringing and conches blowing, common in Hindu worship, were heard in the mosque. Furthermore, the chapter describes that activities like the grinding of grain, constant Bhajan (devotional singing), distribution of food, and ritual washing of feet took place within its walls. These practices were so contrary to what one would expect in a mosque that they left visitors amazed and demonstrated Baba's transcendence of religious norms.
