What was so unusual about Hemadpant's writing process and his attitude towards his materials?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 53

Chapter 53 describes Hemadpant's writing process as being remarkably frugal and skillful. He was so careful about waste that he "never let a scrap of paper go to waste." In fact, he wrote the chapters of the Satcharitra on these scraps of paper and then gave the very same scraps directly to the printer. The chapter poetically suggests that Hemadpant felt compassion for these "poor, lifeless scraps of paper" and believed that by using them for this sacred work, they would be redeemed through the service of Sai Baba. This unique habit highlights his deep-seated nature of avoiding wasteful expenditure.
