What was Sapatnekar's state of mind right before he finally received Baba's grace, and how did he approach Him?

As described in Chapter 48, Sapatnekar was extremely distressed after being repeatedly rebuffed by Sai Baba. Food and water did not taste good to him, and he was sleepless. In this state of desperation, he resolved to approach Baba directly. Seeing an opportunity when Baba was alone on his cushion, Sapatnekar went and held Baba's feet with a choked heart. As soon as he placed his head on Baba's feet, Baba reciprocated by placing a hand on him, marking the turning point from rejection to acceptance and setting the stage for the subsequent miracle.
