What was Sai Baba's teaching on the role of argumentation and logic in the path to self-knowledge?

📖 Chapter 2

Sai Baba's teachings, as recorded in Chapter 2, strongly discourage intellectual debate and argumentation as a means to spiritual progress. He stated that "Where there is a mind for argumentation, there is abundance of ignorance and Maya." He believed such a person is unfit for self-knowledge, as their mind is filled with bad thoughts and false logic, leading only to unhappiness. He explicitly advised against trying to establish one's own side, refute others, or engage in dualistic explanations, calling such activities a "useless effort." Instead, he emphasized the path of faith and devotion, stating, "Where there is devotion with faith, I am always subservient."
