What was Sai Baba's teaching on going on pilgrimages to holy rivers like the Ganga?

Sai Baba taught that the presence of a Saint was the ultimate pilgrimage, making long journeys unnecessary for a true devotee. This is illustrated in Chapter 4 when Das Ganu wanted to visit Prayag for a holy bath. Baba told him, "No need to go so far. This itself is our Prayag; keep firm faith in your mind." To prove his point, Baba miraculously caused the holy waters of the Ganga and Yamuna to flow from his own toes. This leela showed Das Ganu that the feet of the Sadguru are the holiest of all tirthas, reinforcing the teaching that devotion and faith where you are is more important than traveling to distant holy sites.
