What was Sai Baba's response when Jog told him about Dev's letter of complaint?

📖 Chapter 40

When Jog communicated the contents of Dev's letter, Sai Baba reacted with surprise at Dev's failure to recognize him. As recounted in Chapter 40, Baba explained precisely how he had fulfilled his promise. He told Jog to inform Dev that he had indeed attended the Udyapan. Baba clarified, "I came and ate at the Udyapan. I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others." He reminded Jog of the Sanyasi's guise, who first came alone and then returned for the meal with two companions. Baba strongly affirmed his commitment to his word, declaring, "Look, for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise."
