What was Sai Baba's response when he was told that Dev felt deceived by him?

When Jog communicated Dev's feeling of being deceived, Sai Baba's reaction was one of surprise that Dev had failed to recognize Him. According to chapter 40, Baba stated that He already knew the contents of Dev's letter before it was even opened. He addressed the accusation directly, telling Jog to ask Dev, "You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?" Baba confirmed that while he did not leave Shirdi in a worldly sense, he did attend the Udyapan. He explicitly recounted his visit in the guise of a Sanyasi, first alone and then returning with two others for the meal, exactly as he had promised.
