What was Sai Baba's response to Damu Anna's plan to enter the cotton trade?

📖 Chapter 25

When Damu Anna wrote a letter to Sai Baba seeking permission for a business venture, Baba's reaction was one of caution and discouragement. As detailed in Chapter 25, after Madhavrao (Shama) presented the letter, Baba had it read aloud. Baba then stated that the Shet's mind had "gone astray" and advised him against the plan. The message sent back to Damu Anna was clear: "what do you lack at home? Half a loaf of bread is enough for us; do not fall into the trap of millions." This response shows Baba guiding his devotee away from the pursuit of immense wealth and towards contentment with what he already has.
