What was Sai Baba's reaction when the author wanted to write down His stories, and what conditions did He set?

📖 Chapter 2

According to Chapter 2, when the author, Govind Raghunath Dabholkar, prayed to write His stories, Sai Baba felt compassion and gave his full permission and assistance. Baba encouraged him, stating, "A collection of stories, news, and experiences should indeed be made. Keep a record; it is good. My full help is with it." However, Baba clarified that the author was merely a pretext, and He Himself would write His own story through the author. The main condition set by Sai Baba was the complete dissolution of the author's ego. He stated that the author must surrender his ego at Baba's feet, and in return, Baba would not only provide full assistance for the book but would serve the author in all ways. This surrender was essential for Baba to enter with 'I-ness' and write the stories Himself.
