What was Sai Baba's policy on accepting Dakshina from his devotees?

Chapter 14 explains Sai Baba's unique and consistent practice regarding Dakshina, or offerings. He would ask for Dakshina from everyone who came for his darshan, regardless of their faith, be they Hindu, Muslim, or Parsi. The amounts he requested were not trivial; he would ask for anything from a few rupees to hundreds, thousands, or even lakhs. If a devotee claimed to have no more money, Baba would instruct them to take a loan. However, he would also comfort these devotees, telling them not to worry and promising that he would give them "bags of rupees" in return for their devotion.
