What was Sai Baba's philosophy and practice regarding asking for Dakshina from his devotees?

Chapter 14 explains that Sai Baba would ask for Dakshina from everyone who came for his darshan, regardless of whether they were Hindu, Muslim, or Parsi. The amount requested was not fixed and could range from a couple of rupees to hundreds, thousands, or even lakhs. He would push devotees, even telling them to take a loan if they claimed to have no more money. However, this was coupled with a profound reassurance. Baba would tell them not to worry, promising to give them 'bags of rupees' in return. He stated that his only allegiance was to 'Allah' and that if a devotee loved him as their very life, he would give them a hundred qualities in return for their one.
