What was Sai Baba's perspective on who the true author of his life story was, and what was required of the person recording it?

📖 Chapter 2

Sai Baba's perspective was that He Himself was the true author of his own story. As recorded in Chapter 2, He gave permission for a collection of stories to be made, promising His full help. However, He clarified that the writer was "merely a pretext" and that "I myself shall write my own story!" The primary requirement for the person recording the events was the complete surrender of their ego. Baba stated, "He should dissolve his ego and surrender it at my feet. To one who acts thus in life, I give full assistance." When the ego is dissolved, Baba promised to enter with "I-ness" and write with His own hand.
