What was Sai Baba's personal conduct and character like, and how did he interact with men and women?

According to the Shri Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba's daily life was marvelous and beyond description. His state was unpredictable; sometimes he was intoxicated with the bliss of the Self (Brahmananda), and at other times he performed all actions while remaining completely detached. Chapter 37 explains that he was always alert and fixed on his own Self-realization. In his interactions, he held a sense of brotherhood with men and treated all women as his sisters or mothers, maintaining his status as a celibate known to all. His nature was as profound and difficult to fathom as the ocean.
