What was Sai Baba's opinion on making long pilgrimages to holy places like Prayag?

📖 Chapter 4

Sai Baba consistently taught that the essence of pilgrimage lies in sincere faith and devotion, not in traveling great distances. A clear example of this is found in Chapter 4, when his devotee Das Ganu wished to travel to Prayag for a holy bath on a special occasion. Baba advised him against the journey, stating, "No need to go so far. This itself is our Prayag; keep firm faith in your mind." To reinforce this teaching with a direct experience, Baba performed a miracle. As Das Ganu bowed to his feet, water from the holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna began to flow from Baba's toes. This leela powerfully demonstrated that the sanctity and blessings of all holy sites were present in Shirdi at the feet of the Master, making external pilgrimages unnecessary for a faithful devotee.
