What was Sai Baba's message to Das Ganu regarding the importance of faith, both in seeing Vitthal and in undertaking pilgrimages?

📖 Chapter 4

Sai Baba consistently taught Das Ganu that firm faith was paramount. According to Chapter 4, when Das Ganu organized a Name-week and insisted that Vitthal must appear, Baba placed a hand on His chest and firmly stated that Vitthal's form would indeed appear, but only if the devotee was 'full of faith.' On another occasion, when Das Ganu wished to travel to Prayag for a holy bath, Baba told him there was no need to go far, instructing him to 'keep firm faith' that Shirdi itself was Prayag. Baba then miraculously manifested the holy waters of the Ganga and Yamuna from his own toes, proving to Das Ganu that sincere faith in the Guru's feet makes distant pilgrimages unnecessary.
