What was Sai Baba's daily practice concerning Udi as described in Chapter 33 of the Sai Satcharitra?

📖 Chapter 33

According to Chapter 33 of the Shri Sai Satcharita, Sai Baba had a consistent daily practice involving Udi, or sacred ash. He maintained a perpetually burning sacred fire, known as the Dhuni, in the Masjid, into which he would offer bundles of firewood. The resulting ash was the Udi he distributed. The chapter explains that whether devotees were staying in Shirdi or asking for permission to return to their villages, Baba would not send them away empty-handed. This practice of giving Udi occurred throughout the day, in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and was a well-known custom among all his followers. Receiving the Udi was also seen as Baba's true permission to depart.
