What was Sai Baba's daily custom regarding the lamps in the mosque before the grocers refused him oil?

📖 Chapter 5

As explained in Chapter 5, Sai Baba had a great fondness for the festival of lights and made it a regular practice to illuminate the mosque. His daily routine involved taking a tin pot in his hand and personally going to the shops of the local grocers and oil-merchants. He would himself beg for oil and use it to fill the lamps, which burned brightly in both the temple and the mosque. This practice continued for some days, and he even celebrated the Diwali festival by tearing rags to make wicks, showing his deep affection for this ritual of light.
