What was Maharaj's attitude toward physical contact and personal hygiene, based on his daily habits?

📖 Chapter 0

Chapter 0 provides several examples that illustrate Maharaj's attitude. He was not averse to physical contact, even with the sick, as shown by his daily interaction with Bhagoji Shinde, a man with leprosy, whom he allowed to touch him and tend to his bandages. He also demonstrated a personal touch when feeding devotees, peeling bananas, cutting guavas, and squeezing mangoes with his own hands. Regarding his own hygiene, his washing was noted to be thorough yet gentle. He would use plenty of water but would rub his body gently, a practice compared to that of one who avoids ego for fear of harming living beings.
