Before the mosque was paved with stones by devotees around 1912, Sai Baba's life involved different locations and activities. Chapter 5 mentions that prior to making the mosque his main residence, he lived for a long time in the Takia, a resting place for Fakirs. There, he would engage in devotional expressions, such as tying bells to his feet, dancing beautifully, and singing sweetly to the rhythm of a small tambourine. Even during this early period, he had a great fondness for lighting lamps and would personally go to shopkeepers to ask for oil for the lamps in the temple and the mosque.
What was life like for Baba before he settled in the renovated mosque?
