What was Gopalrao Gund's relationship with Sai Baba, and what service did he try to perform?

Gopalrao Gund, the Revenue Circle Inspector of Kopargaon, became a total devotee of Sai Baba after being blessed with a son, despite having three wives. As described in the Introduction (Chapter 0), his devotion led him to desire to rebuild the dilapidated Masjid where Maharaj resided. He went so far as to collect many stones for this purpose. However, Maharaj did not grant him permission, indicating that this work was destined for another devotee. Instead, with Maharaj's command, the collected stones were repurposed to build the Shani temple and renovate other village temples.
