Damu Anna played a significant role in the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi. As detailed in chapter 25, he had a long-standing vow to provide one of the two large new flags that were taken out in a procession through the village. This vow was carried out with uninterrupted love and devotion for many years. The procession, accompanied by musical instruments, would start from the house of Kondaji Sutara, and the flags would ultimately be tied to the two ends of the Masjid. In addition to the flag, the text notes that Damu Anna would also arrange for the feeding of any Fakirs who came there for the festival.
