What was Damu Anna's specific role in the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi?

📖 Chapter 25

Damu Anna played a significant and long-standing role in the yearly Ram Navami festival. As detailed in Chapter 25, two large new flags were traditionally taken out in a procession through Shirdi village. One of these flags was provided by the Nimonkars, and the second one was supplied by Damu Anna himself. This was a vow he had made and carried out for many years with 'uninterrupted love and devotion.' The text mentions that this procession, accompanied by musical instruments, would start from the house of Kondaji Sutara, and the flags would ultimately be tied to the two ends of the Masjid.
