What was Damu Anna's connection to the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi?

Damu Anna had a significant and long-standing role in the annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi. As detailed in Chapter 25, he had taken a regular vow, which he carried out for many years with uninterrupted love and devotion. This vow involved providing one of the two large new flags that were taken out in a procession through the village. The procession, accompanied by musical instruments, would start from the house of Kondaji Sutara. Ultimately, these long banners were tied to the two ends of the Masjid, with Damu Anna's flag being one of them.
