What was Boss Dharamsee's initial attitude towards Sai Baba, and how did it change after his visit to Shirdi?

📖 Chapter 35

Boss Dharamsee's initial attitude was one of skepticism and what Chapter 35 calls "clinical scrutiny." He came to Shirdi driven by curiosity, having heard reports of miracles, but he was not a believer. His internal monologue reveals his doubts; when Baba gave him grapes with seeds, which he disliked, he thought, "If he is a saint, how does he not know That I do not like these grapes?" This shows his judgmental and testing mindset. However, his attitude underwent a complete transformation after the grape leela. When he ate the grapes Baba gave him and found them to be seedless, he was amazed. The text notes, "All his ego dropped away, and love for the saint was born." His skepticism was replaced by faith, and his casual curiosity turned into a "firm determination" to follow Sai, showcasing a profound change from a doubter to a devotee.
