What was Baba's specific advice on how to interact with people of poor character versus how to treat animals like dogs or flies?

📖 Chapter 3

Sai Baba gave very distinct instructions for dealing with different beings, as detailed in Chapter 3. Regarding people of poor character—those who have 'abandoned religious conduct,' are 'thoughtless,' or whose 'actions are ruined'—Baba's advice was to avoid them completely. He considered them 'very dangerous' and said one 'should not even stay in their shadow.' In stark contrast, he advised a policy of total acceptance for other creatures. He instructed, 'Do not shoo away (had-had) anyone, be it a dog, pig, or fly,' explaining that 'Without some connection (lagya-bandhya), no one comes to us.' This highlights a philosophy of discerning avoidance of negative human influence while embracing all other life forms.
