What was Baba's advice on the right amount of food to eat versus extremes like fasting or overeating?

📖 Chapter 32

According to Chapter 32, Sai Baba championed a balanced and moderate approach to food. He taught that "Moderate eating is truly comfortable," positioning it as the ideal path. He was clear that extremes were harmful; the text notes that "Excessive eating is also not beneficial." At the same time, he considered excessive fasting to be "terrible" because it causes "continuous discomfort." Baba's core philosophy was that the senses need strength from food to properly engage in devotion, and weakening the body through fasting negates its capacity for spirituality. Thus, his advice was to avoid both gluttony and starvation in favor of sensible moderation.
