What was Annasaheb Dabholkar's role and method in composing the Shri Sai Satcharita?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 0

Annasaheb Dabholkar undertook the writing of the Shri Sai Satcharita not as an ordinary author but as an act of devoted service. According to Chapter 0, he began this work by the direct command of Shri Samarth Sadguru Sai Baba Maharaj. His role was primarily that of a divine vessel and a poetic chronicler. The text explains that many of the stories and leelas described were events he personally witnessed. For other events, devotees who had experienced them in person or in dreams would communicate them to Annasaheb. His specific contribution was to then take these factual accounts and experiences and, as the text beautifully puts it, dress them 'in a poetic, attractive, and beautiful garment with his graceful and succulent voice,' using the traditional Ovi meter.
