What vow did Cholkar make to Sai Baba, and why was he unable to fulfill it right away?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 15

Cholkar's livelihood depended on his ability to pass an examination to make his job permanent. Facing this uncertainty, he made a vow to Sai Baba, as described in Chapter 15. He promised that if he passed the exam by Baba's grace, he would go to Shirdi for darshan and distribute sugar candy (khadisakhar) in Baba's name. His wish was granted, and he passed. However, Cholkar was a poor man, and he could not immediately afford the journey to Shirdi. The text highlights this struggle, stating that for a worldly man, the "'threshold-ghat' (home expenses) is very difficult to cross." This financial hardship forced him to delay fulfilling his vow, pushing the trip from "today to tomorrow."
