What vow did Cholkar make to Sai Baba, and how did he finally manage to fulfill it?

Cholkar, a worldly man facing difficulties with his home expenses, made a vow to visit Shirdi. As part of this vow, he abstained from sugar, even drinking his tea without it until he could complete his pilgrimage.
