What vow did a man named Cholkar make to Sai Baba, and what were his circumstances?

📖 Chapter 15

According to Chapter 15, Cholkar was a man from a poor household whose livelihood depended on his job. To secure his position, he needed to pass an examination. Facing this uncertainty, he made a vow to Sai Baba, stating, "If I pass by your grace, I will present myself at your feet and distribute sugar candy (khadisakhar) in your name—this is my firm resolve." This vow was born out of desperation, as the text notes that if he failed, even his daily bread was at stake and his candidacy would be lost.
