Following the attack where he was struck by an axe and left for dead, Kashiram regained consciousness. As Chapter 0 explains, his faith in Sai Maharaj was so profound that he refused to go to a hospital, insisting instead, "Take me to Shirdi." He was brought there and, on Maharaj's instructions, was treated by Madhavrao Deshpande. By Maharaj's grace, he made a full recovery.
