Sai Baba placed great importance on the reading of specific divinely inspired books for the spiritual welfare and salvation of his devotees. According to Chapter 18, the two main texts he promoted were the Bhagavad Gita, particularly with Jnandeva's commentary known as Bhavartha Deepika or Jnaneshwari, and the Nath Bhagawat. The Nath Bhagawat, which is the eleventh Skandha of the Bhagavat, is also referred to as the Uddhava Gita. Baba assigned Sakharam Hari Jog to conduct daily readings of these books in Sathe’s Wada, ensuring many devotees could benefit from listening to them.
