What specific rituals did Sai Baba perform before leaving the Masjid for the Chavadi?

Before departing the Masjid for the Chavadi procession, Sai Baba performed a unique ritual. After getting ready with His kafni on and satka under His arm, He would approach a bundle of firewood kept against a wall. As noted in Chapter 37, He would move His right big toe at that spot for a moment. Then, in a remarkable display, Baba would personally wave His right hand over the burning flame that was there, extinguishing it completely. Only after putting out this fire with His own hand would Sai set out for the Chavadi, at which point the grand procession would commence.
