What specific ritual did Sai Baba perform with a flame just before he would depart the Masjid for the Chavadi?

Before setting out for the Chavadi procession, Sai Baba performed a unique and specific ritual involving fire. As detailed in Chapter 37, after getting ready, Baba would go to the wall where a bundle of firewood was kept. He would first move His right big toe at that spot for a moment. Immediately after, Baba would personally wave His right hand over the burning flame that was there, extinguishing it. Only after completing this act of putting out the flame would Sai set out for the Chavadi, signaling the start of the grand procession.
