What specific actions did Sai Baba perform personally right before leaving the Masjid for the Chavadi procession?

Before setting out for the Chavadi, Sai Baba followed a distinct personal ritual. According to Chapter 37, after being helped up by Tatya Patil, Baba, wearing His kafni and with His satka (stick) and chilim (pipe), would have a golden-bordered shawl placed over Him. He would then go to a wall where firewood was kept and move His right big toe at that spot for a moment. Immediately after, Baba would wave His right hand over the burning flame there, extinguishing it himself. Only after completing these specific actions would Sai set out for the Chavadi procession.
