Balabuva Satarkar's journey to Shirdi was prompted by an unexpected cancellation. He held an annual grant to perform the Ram Navami Kirtan at a holy place called Siddha-Kavthe. However, Chapter 6 recounts that the village of Kavthe was struck by a plague, forcing the cancellation of the Ram Navami festival that year. This meant his service to Rama was missed.
