According to the account in Chapter 18, Sai Baba placed great importance on the reading of specific sacred books for the spiritual welfare of his devotees. The two main texts mentioned are the Bhagavad Gita, specifically the commentary known as Jnaneshwari or Bhavartha Deepika, and the eleventh Skandha of the Bhagavat, referred to as Nath Bhagawat.
