What's the story behind the Baba portrait that Dixit saw before his first trip to Shirdi?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 51

The portrait Kakasaheb Dixit saw had a special journey of its own. According to chapter 51 of the Sai Satcharita, this photograph was deeply revered by Megha, one of Baba's devotees who worshipped it as Lord Shankar. The glass of the portrait had broken, so it was sent from Shirdi with Balasaheb to Nagar for repairs. After being repaired, it was kept covered in Kakasaheb Mirikar's drawing room. Balasaheb revealed it to Dixit just as Dixit was planning his trip, entrusting it to Madhavrao Deshpande to be taken back to Shirdi. This series of events made it seem as if the portrait was specifically waiting for Dixit.
