What's the deal with the flags at the Ram Navami festival in Shirdi?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 25

The annual Ram Navami festival in Shirdi features a significant procession with two large, new flags. As detailed in Chapter 25, these flags are a central part of the celebration. One of the flags belongs to the Nimonkars, and the second is provided by Damu Anna, a devoted follower of Sai from Ahmednagar. For Damu Anna, providing this flag was a regular vow that he fulfilled for many years with uninterrupted love and devotion. The procession, accompanied by musical instruments, would start from the house of Kondaji Sutara and conclude with these long banners being tied to the two ends of the Masjid.
