What role did Tatya Patil play in Sai Baba's nightly procession to the Chavadi?

Tatya Patil had a very intimate and essential role in the Chavadi procession. Their mutual love was so great that Tatya called Baba 'Mama', and Baba would not even begin to leave the Masjid until Tatya arrived. As described in Chapter 37, once he came, Tatya would place his hand under Baba's arm and help Him to stand. He would also place a beautiful golden-bordered shawl over Baba and adjust it on His head. During the procession itself, Tatyaba held Baba's left hand, guiding him along the path to the Chavadi, while Mhalasapati held the right, demonstrating Tatya's position as one of Baba's closest companions.
