What role did Chand Patil play in Sai Baba's arrival in Shirdi as described in Chapter 39?

📖 Chapter 39

Based on the account in Chapter 39, Chand Patil was the instrumental figure through whom Sai Baba arrived in Shirdi. The chapter mentions that Chand Patil, a meritorious man, was the first to find this "treasure" (Sai). Their meeting occurred after Patil's horse was lost. Sai helped him find the horse and also shared a chillum with him. Subsequently, when Chand Patil's nephew's wedding was arranged in Shirdi, Sai accompanied the wedding party, thus making his unexpected arrival in the village. The text clarifies that while Chand Patil was the instrument, Sai came to Shirdi of his own accord for the upliftment of his devotees.
