What motivated the family in Chapter 34 to travel to Shirdi, and what was their plea to Sai Baba?

According to Chapter 34, the family of the sick boy from Malegaon was motivated to travel to Shirdi out of sheer desperation and as a final resort. After exhausting all medical treatments for their son's incurable bone-cyst, including those from expert physicians and surgeons, they heard about a great saint, Sai Maharaj of Shirdi. Word had reached them that this 'Avaliya' could heal diseases just by his sight and that his Udi could cure incurable ailments. Believing they had nothing left to lose, they decided to try this last resort. Upon reaching Shirdi, as the chapter recounts, they bowed at Baba's feet and, with choked voices and folded hands, made their plea. They described their son's wretched suffering and their own exhaustion, begging Sai Samarth to place his protective hand on the boy and grant him a new life, having come to seek refuge with total devotion.
