What moral lesson did Baba teach after the incident with the ladder?

📖 Chapter 19

After miraculously climbing the roofs to help Radhakrishnabai, Sai Baba taught a profound lesson about labor and compensation. According to Chapter 19, upon descending, Baba immediately gave two rupees to the man who had brought the ladder. When a curious onlooker gathered the courage to ask why he paid so much, Baba gave a direct and powerful answer: 'One should not take the burden of anyone's labor for free, not even a bit.' He advised that this principle—to always pay for work received—should be a rule for one's life to ensure worldly affairs proceed smoothly.
