What medical and non-medical options were attempted before the family in Chapter 34 sought Sai Baba's help for the boy with the bone-cyst?

📖 Chapter 34

According to Chapter 34, the family of the boy with the bone-cyst (Hadyavran) exhausted numerous options before turning to Sai Baba. The boy's uncle was himself a degree-holding doctor, and he, along with his physician friends and expert surgeons, tried various treatments to no avail. The text specifies that "All native and foreign treatments were tried; all efforts were exhausted. Even surgery was attempted, but nothing succeeded." After this complete failure of the medical field, the family's relatives suggested turning to spiritual means, and they pursued worship of deities and their family god. However, these efforts also seemed to provide no help. It was only after all these medical and conventional spiritual remedies failed that they heard of the famous saint in Shirdi and decided to seek Sai Baba's intervention as a final resort.
